I'm so excited to announce the release my new EP album today! There are songs in this collection that are both deeply personal, internal type songs, as well as songs deeply critical and questioning of the outside world. It's impossible to have watched the news over this past couple years and not have had your heart broken or your hope challenged. These songs are my process of dealing with all the uncertainty and doubt in the world, as well as celebrating the love that is rock-solid and undeniably present in the presence of family and friendship. There's some pretty rocking stuff, and some super-mellow acoustic goodness, with a pinch of good ol' soul. I'm REALLY excited about this mix of songs!
A bit about the sonic goodness you'll hear on this album - My good friend, producer of my last 3 albums, and now GRAMMY WINNER(!!!), Andre de Santanna produced this baby, and it features the talents of keyboardist Will Herrington (Lukas Graham), electric guitarist Jaco Caraco (Miley Cyrus), Andre de Santanna on bass (Sergio Mendes, Herb Alpert, Jason Mraz, Bushwalla), Tamir Barzilay on drums (Macy Grey, Tal), Gavin Salmon on drums, along with Gabe Steiner and Aaron Leibowitz on trumpet and saxophone (the Vibrometers), with a feature by Armenian cellist Artyom Manukyan.
You'll also notice on the homepage a brand new video to the song "Tired Eyes". Sharisse Coulter directed, shot, and edited this - she's the real deal, and it was so fun working on this with her. Please do me a favor and spread the video to friends and family, especially those parents who might get a kick out of a normal day for any working parent. And please help spread the music by sharing with friends. I'd love to hear from you when you've had a chance to listen - shoot me a line! We'll see you at the album release party this Saturday!
