The ScrapApple Years
1994-1997
Aaah! The days of jumping wildly around on stage, pounding my guitar and
acting like a goofball with my friends....this was ScrapApple! The music,
however, was serious. Begun in 1994 at Franciscan University in Ohio, we
played primarily the Pittsburgh market, heaping up a healthy following and
releasing the album "Beatnik".
After our college days were over, ScrapApple was transplanted to the Boston
area, where I moved with my great friend, Brian O'Reilly, to continue our
musical endeavors with a slightly different rhythm line up. We continued to
write great tunes, record several demo's, and perform in a variety of settings,
attracting the attention of radio stations, promotors, and even a big record
label. We decided to disband in 1997 to pursue our other interests (primarily
beer and religion...). Yet the music still rocks, and people actually still look for
it online...so I've provided these little tidbits to keep the Scrap flowing! I also
still have several copies of our first album if anyone is interested - let me know!!
